National Constitution Center
Opening July 4, 2003, this state of the art museum honors the United States Constitution.

Independence National Historical Park
Here's the one thing everyone goes to (with good reason), and it includes Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. But don't limit yourself to this - there's lots more to do in Philadelphia!

The Philadelphia Museum of Art
This is definitely a must-see in Philadelphia, even for those who bypass museums. One of the world's great art collections. and the occasional blockbuster show.

The Barnes Foundation
One of the world's best private art collections is open the public on the weekends. Convenient to Chamounix Mansion, it houses a fantastic selection of Impressionist and African masterpieces.

The Franklin Institute Science Museum
A fun place for people of all ages, it also houses a giant IMAX theater.

The Philadelphia Zoo
This is America's first zoo, and is very convenient to Chamounix Mansion.

The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts
This is both an art school and a museum. Included in its collection are the Plumstead portraits, builder of Chamounix Mansion.

The Rodin Museum
Close to the Art Museum, this houses a fantastic display of Rodin's sculpture -free admission.

The Academy of Natural Sciences
Across from the Franklin Institute Science Museum, this is a leader in its field.

The Avenue of the Arts
This is the home of the Orchestra, the Ballet, the Opera, and large number of theaters.

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts
A truly amazing venue on the Avenue of the Arts!

Philadelphia City Hall
For many years the tallest building in the city, this beautiful Rococo structure has free tours including a trip to the top of the tower!

The Mutter Museum
One of Philadelphia's unique sights, this is a museum showcasing medical artifacts and the occasional medical oddity (in formaldehyde).

Eastern State Penitentiary
Another unique sight in Philadelphia, this is the world's first modern penitentiary, and is the former "home" of Al Capone.

The American Swedish Historical Museum
One of Philadelphia's overlooked gems, this museum documents the Swedish-American historical experience.

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania
This is a great resource for anyone doing any historical research in Philadelphia.

Penn's Landing
The area by the Delaware River that hosts a countless number of free concerts, ethnic festivals, and fireworks during the summer.

AKA Shofuso: The Pine Breeze Villa. Our neighbor in the park, this authentic Japanese house was moved to Philadelphia piece by piece, and has a spectacular garden surrounding it.

South Street
Home to many clubs, restaurants, and interesting shops, this is one of the places everyone should go to before leaving Philadelphia.

Manayunk
The nearby revitalized neighborhood - home to some of Philadelphia's best restaurants and shopping.

Reading Terminal Market
Philadelphia's premier farmer's market has some of the best food stalls - don't leave Philadelphia without having lunch here.

Philadelphia Flower Show
If you come in the spring, be sure to catch the internationally famous Flower Show.

The Philadelphia Orchestra
At home in the incredible Kimmel Center, they also play in Fairmount Park during June and July - ask at our reception desk for free tickets!
